Public Participation - Meetings/Open Houses

As part of our commitment to soliciting input in regards to our woodlands operations, Tolko Industries Ltd. (High Level Lumber Division - HLLD) and Footner Forest Products Ltd. (FFP) will be hosting a public information session on Tuesday September 28, 2004 in the town of Rainbow Lake. This information session will take place at 7:00 PM and will be located upstairs in the curling rink.

This session is intended to educate the community, aboriginal groups, and other industrial stakeholders about the companies upcoming operations in the winter of 2004 – 2005 in the Rainbow Lake area. Through the continuous improvement programs that we have in place, the companies are working together with a variety of stakeholders to accommodate a wide range of interests. This information session is open to any person who is concerned about forest management or issues regarding the log haul.

Harvesting operations have commenced approximately 10 km east of Rainbow Lake along the Zama ridge with the log haul scheduled to start in early October.

The Companies will also display some of the long-term forecasts and strategies that have been incorporated into our Detailed Forest Management Plan (DFMP) and Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) Plan to address wildlife, forest health, watershed management, and community interests.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding our proposed operations, please feel free to contact Colin Hanusz of Tolko Industries Ltd. at (780) 926-8954 or by email at colin_hanusz@tolko.com.
