The Public Advisory Committee (PAC) was formed in 1997 with the initial mandate to bring forestry-related issues to the attention of the companies and to distribute information about forestry and the PAC's role in forest planning and operations to members of the general public.
In May 2011 changes to the Terms
of Reference (ToR) (160Kb PDF) were ratified and the committee has now been named the High Level Forests Public Advisory Group (HLFPAG) with the mandate to obtain constructive community input, advice and recommendations for forest management planning in the Upper Hay as well as participate in identifying local Values, Objectives, Indicators and Targets of sustainable forest management. Another significant change is that a Facilitator has been appointed to manage the process.
The HLFPAG has representation from a variety of stakeholders in the region and is always looking for new members.
