During the development of our Sustainable Forest
Management (SFM) Plan for the Defined Forest Area (DFA), a Public
Advisory Group (PAG) was established with the purpose of assisting
the companies in the identification of local-level forest Values,
Objectives, Indicators, and Targets (VOIT's) while meeting the
CSA Z809-02 certification standard.
Like our Public Advisory Committee (PAC), the PAG
consisted of a broad range of industrial and non-industrial stakeholders
(including First Nations) from within and adjacent to the DFA,
many of whom are currently or have previously been participants
in other advisory and/or forest management planning processes.
However, as a result of Opportunities for Improvement
(OFI's) identified by independent third-party auditors as well
as recommendations made by PAG members, the PAG has merged with
the PAC to form a single Public Advisory Committee
effective June 7th 2005.
