 The province of Alberta recognizes the importance of public involvement in the development and implementation of Forest Management Plans (FMP's) and since 1990 has required that all FMP's for Forest Management Agreement areas include a public involvement plan.
During the development of the Detailed Forest Management Plan (DFMP) for FMA0200040, the companies developed and implemented a comprehensive Public Involvement Plan (PIP), a plan that was enhanced following the initiation of the companies' joint certification effort to the CSA Z809:02 forest certification standard.
Consistent with our Environmental Policies and Forest Management Principles however, this document remains a "living document" and will be periodically reviewed throughout its implementation to assess its effectiveness and will be updated where deemed appropriate.
